New Simon Lewis Still From ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Unveiled by SucarScape

PicMonkey CollageSIMONLRecently it was revelead the character poster for our favorite mundane Simon Lewis, but today our friends from SugarScape have unveiled another The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Still, featuring Robert Sheehan as Mundane Extraiordinare Simon Lewis.

Here is what SugarScape has to say:

Arrgh hurry up August
Waiting for The Mortal Instruments film’s release date (August 23rd, cinema fans) to come around is almost KILLING US WITH ANTICIPATION – but luckily we’ve managed to get our paws on this exclusive picture of Robert Sheehan as Simon.

OK, so it’s not the most exciting shot in the word, but here we’re seeing Simon at The Institute, looking a bit baffled and dishevelled in the mix of all the otherworldy happenings going on around him. It’s the first big look at the film we’ve had since the trailer was released (which we’ve just popped in here to be helpful).

For those not in the know, The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones is an adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s awesome book of the same name from her Mortal Instruments series. We follow Clary Fray (Lily Collins) as she discovers that she can see things people can’t, and soon learns that the life she’s been living is in fact a BIG FAT LIE, and she’s actually off to hunt for demons and stuff with a very hot looking Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Jace.

Robert Sheehan stars alongside as Clary’s best mate Simon, who is generally just a bit bewildered by the whole thing.

I’m going to have to agree and disagree with SugarScape, even though the still itself won’t give up too much from the movie, is always nice to have those hot and strong arms from Mr. Sheehan to look at. So I will have to say I’m really happy with this new still.

What you think of Mr. Sheehan’s arms? Sound off in the comments!

‘The Mortal Instruments’ Actors Owns VH1’s ’20 Hot Guys You Need To Know About In 2013′ List

PicMonkey Collage (93)

Shadowhunters! Some obvious news for us today! Four of our actors from The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones owned spots on VH1’s list of ’20 Hot Guys You Need to Know About in 2013′ : Godfrey Gao (Pantless Magnus Bane), Jamie Campbell Bower (Mango Boy, Jace Wayland), Robert Sheehan (My baby Simon Lewis) and Aidan Turner (Hot Stepdad Luke Garroway).

Godfrey Gao

Magnus still

2013 Projects To Watch: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Aug 23)

Why Is He Hot This Year?: Gao is a smoking hot Taiwanese model and actor who is crossing over to Western films in a big way with one of the more juicy roles in a film filled with eye candy, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Also, he has a vocal online fan community.

Things To Know About Him: He was born in Taiwan, but moved to Canada at the age of 9, but then moved back to Taiwan to model and act in a plethora of teen dramas.

Jamie Campbell Bower

2013 Projects To Watch: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Aug 23)

Why Is He Hot This Year?: If Gao is on the verge of breaking out because of a juicy bit part in a popular YA film adaptation, the film’s lead should also brace himself for success.

Things To Know About Him: Campbell Bower isn’t a stranger to the fantasy genre. He was a Volturi in The Twilight Saga and Grindelwald, aka Dumbledore’s crush/lover/enemy in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Oh, and he used to date Ginny Weasley.

Robert Sheehan

Robert Sheehan as Simon Lewis

2013 Projects To Watch: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Aug 23)

Why Is He Hot This Year?: Sheehan is the third up-and-comer who could break out on The Mortal Instruments series alone. However, unlike Gao and Campbell Bower, he hasn’t forged his path playing pretty boys, but character acting his way through cheeky anti-heroes and historical characters.

Things To Know About Him: Sheehan started acting professionally in his late teens in his native Ireland, grew in popularity and acclaim and jumped to the UK market with film roles and an electrifying performance in Misfits. He’s appeared in a number of US films in supporting roles, but is poised for a crossover to Hollywood. Oh, and he apparently likes wine. That’s good.

Aidan Turner

2013 Projects To Watch: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Aug 26) & The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec 13)

Why Is He Hot This Year?: Turner is probably the most visible dwarf in The Hobbit being that he’s the youngest, (arguably) the hottest, and the one least covered in make-up and his character is one of the more “human” ones in the trilogy. On the flip side, he’ll be the mature elder of the pack in The Mortal Instruments, so he’s got two places to be seen in different ways by fantasy audiences.

Things To Know About Him: He recently cut his hair, which would be sad, but it still looks really, really, really good.

Sony Pictures Launches ‘Mind of Simon Lewis’ Tumblr Page

PicMonkey Collage (81)Want to find out what goes on in the mind of Simon Lewis?

Our friends from Sony Pictures are gifts again this week. This time they have launched a new The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones-inspired site called Mind of Simon Lewis, a Tumblr page that is run by Simon.

Take a look at the first post:

Things have been great with my band (Eric, Matt and Kirk) — we have a good vibe.

I play bass and it’s pretty badass. Matt says he knows someone who could get us a gig at the Scrap Bar. We’ve been playing shows around town already and that would be cool to get in. We’ve been throwing these names around.

What do you think?

  • Sea Vegetable Conspiracy
  • Rock Solid Panda
  • Lawn Chair Crisis (that’s Eric’s idea…)
  • The Sexist Pigs and the Fortuitous Occurrences (Thanks, Clary)”

This Tumblr page is a great idea. Tumblr is where the fanbase is this days. We’re loving Sony’s marketing strategies for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

Also If you haven’t noticed, you can send fanmail to Simon’s Tumblr page, who knows. Maybe Mr. Lewis will answer.

MTV EXCLUSIVE: ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Set Visit, Meet Robert Sheehan as Simon Lewis

PicMonkey Collage (66)

My dear Shadowhunters, the Angel has heard us. Finally our friends from MTV revealed another exclusive from Josh Horowitz’s visit to the set of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones last September.

Mr. Robert Sheehan on Simon Lewis:

“Simon, he’s the only normal guy in the whole script in the sense that everyone else has some kind of magical ability, so he’s very much the normal perspective, the normal eyes, the guy who is kind of asking the questions,” Sheehan told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz during a visit to the Toronto set last year. “He’s thrust into these very abnormal situations. It’s quite exciting.”

Yet, for all the supernatural shenanigans that transpire, Simon also faces a very real teen problem: unrequited love.

“It’s very clear from the beginning of the story that Simon is quite desperately in love with his friend, who’s been his best friend pretty much all their lives,” Sheehan explained of his character’s affections for Clary. “And it eventually comes to the fore, and they kind of work through it. It’s interestingly written in the script because it’s kind of just about small conversations that happen between two friends and eventually ends up in, ‘Hey, by the way…’ And it’s been a lovely part, and I’m working with that amateur Lily Collins, and I’m dragging her through the dramatic stuff, you know.”

And while the leather-clad, weapon-wielding Shadowhunters (which also include Kevin Zegers and Jemima West) are arguably much hipper than nerdy Simon, Sheehan says he doesn’t envy his Nephilim-portraying counterparts.

“They may look cool in their leather and sexy boots, but they have to come in about two hours before I do every day to get those rune tattoos put on and taken off and put on and taken off, so they get a lot less sleep than I do.”

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones hits theaters on Aug. 23.
