Merchandise: First Look At ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Posters By Trends International

Shadowhunters, while we wait for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones release in August, there’s a ton of merchandise coming up in the following months. So I guess we can treat ourselves a little bit while we wait.

Our gals from Trends International released the first look of 3 amazing posters coming up at a US/Canada retailer near you.

The three posters in the pre-pack include two with the principal cast of characters and the other poster features the City of Bones book cover.

The poster on the left features (from left to right), Simon (Robert Sheehan), Clary (Lily Collins) and Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower) in front of what looks to be the portal seen in the trailers. Underneath the title of the film is displayed.

The poster on the right features our principal characters (from left to right)–Isabelle (Jemima West), Simon (Robert Sheehan), Clary (Lily Collins), Jace (Jamie Campbell Bower) and Alec (Kevin Zegers)–with an Angelic Power rune behind them. The tagline “A World Hidden Within Our Own” appears above them.

No official word yet on when we will get hold of this posters, or how much they will go for. But usally we get to see this type of posters in stores such as K-Mart, Walmart and Target. They usually go from $4-7.

Cassandra Jean’s Shadowhunter Tarot Card. Day #18 Seelie Queen and Meliorn

Over the past couple of months, The Mortal Instruments / The Infernal Devices fans have been treated to the sight of the amazing art work of Cassandra Jean, including her Shadwhunter-inspired Tarot Cards.

Cassandra as revealed that, thanks to a colaboration with Cassandra Jean, every day for the next 84 days she will be sharing the complete deck, which Jean has now completed, in order.

“Cassandra Jean has finished the complete Shadowhunter Tarot, so for the next … eighty-four? days I’ll be posting a card a day in order, from the first card to the last. Some will be under spoiler cuts; some you’ll have seen before — I’ll explain why each character has the card they have.”

 

Tarot Card #18 Seelie Queen and Meliorn

“We’ve moved on from the Major Arcana to the minor Arcana — the first suit is the suit of Rings, which takes the place of the suit of Pentacles. The Ace of Rings shows Meliorn and the Seelie Queen: the rings are the gold leaf rings the Seelie Queen gives to Clary and Simon in Lost Souls so they can hear each other’s thoughts.

All the Rings in this suit are family rings except this card, and one other.”

Tarot Card #16 Simon Lewis: The Daylighter

“Knocking off two here with the Sun card and the Moon card. The Sun becomes the Daylighter, Simon, and the Moon, for probably kind of obvious reasons, becomes the Lycanthropes, Maia and Jordan. I think Simon is leaning on a sundial. First I thought it was a tree trunk, but I’m pretty sure it’s a sundial. As it says on the sundial in Lost Souls, I only count the hours that shine.”

New Simon Lewis Still From ‘The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones’ Unveiled by SucarScape

Recently it was revelead the character poster for our favorite mundane Simon Lewis, but today our friends from SugarScape have unveiled another The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Still, featuring Robert Sheehan as Mundane Extraiordinare Simon Lewis.

Waiting for The Mortal Instruments film’s release date (August 23rd, cinema fans) to come around is almost KILLING US WITH ANTICIPATION – but luckily we’ve managed to get our paws on this exclusive picture of Robert Sheehan as Simon.

HURRAY.

OK, so it’s not the most exciting shot in the word, but here we’re seeing Simon at The Institute, looking a bit baffled and dishevelled in the mix of all the otherworldy happenings going on around him. It’s the first big look at the film we’ve had since the trailer was released (which we’ve just popped in here to be helpful).

For those not in the know, The Mortal Instruments: The City of Bones is an adaptation of Cassandra Clare’s awesome book of the same name from her Mortal Instruments series. We follow Clary Fray (Lily Collins) as she discovers that she can see things people can’t, and soon learns that the life she’s been living is in fact a BIG FAT LIE, and she’s actually off to hunt for demons and stuff with a very hot looking Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays Jace.

Robert Sheehan stars alongside as Clary’s best mate Simon, who is generally just a bit bewildered by the whole thing.

I’m going to have to agree and disagree with SugarScape, even though the still itself won’t give up too much from the movie, is always nice to have those hot and strong arms from Mr. Sheehan to look at. So I will have to say I’m really happy with this new still.

Things To Know About Him: He was born in Taiwan, but moved to Canada at the age of 9, but then moved back to Taiwan to model and act in a plethora of teen dramas.

Things To Know About Him: Campbell Bower isn’t a stranger to the fantasy genre. He was a Volturi in The Twilight Saga and Grindelwald, aka Dumbledore’s crush/lover/enemy in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Oh, and he used to date Ginny Weasley.

Why Is He Hot This Year?: Sheehan is the third up-and-comer who could break out on The Mortal Instruments series alone. However, unlike Gao and Campbell Bower, he hasn’t forged his path playing pretty boys, but character acting his way through cheeky anti-heroes and historical characters.

Things To Know About Him: Sheehan started acting professionally in his late teens in his native Ireland, grew in popularity and acclaim and jumped to the UK market with film roles and an electrifying performance in Misfits. He’s appeared in a number of US films in supporting roles, but is poised for a crossover to Hollywood. Oh, and he apparently likes wine. That’s good.

2013 Projects To Watch: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones (Aug 26) & The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (Dec 13)

Why Is He Hot This Year?: Turner is probably the most visible dwarf in The Hobbit being that he’s the youngest, (arguably) the hottest, and the one least covered in make-up and his character is one of the more “human” ones in the trilogy. On the flip side, he’ll be the mature elder of the pack in The Mortal Instruments, so he’s got two places to be seen in different ways by fantasy audiences.

Things To Know About Him: He recently cut his hair, which would be sad, but it still looks really, really, really good.

What we know so far about Robert Sheehan upcoming film ‘Anita B’:

“The story, written by Roberto Faenza, together with Edith Bruck, is set in Hungary in 1945. World War II has just come to a close and Anita, 16, is set to face new challenges, having just survived the concentration camps. The international cast includes Eline Powell, Robert Sheehan and Andrea Osvart. Support from BLS will amount to €400,000.”

Cassandra Clare Shares ‘The Mortal Instruments’ Art By Cassandra Jean

Miss Cassandra Clare takes over tumblr to share a beautiful and creative scene of The Mortal Instruments by the infamous and talented Cassandra Jean.

Miss Jean was asked to daw the four Shadowhunter series as the four seasons. The Mortal Instruments takes the season of Fall.

“Taking  a break briefly from the tarot card project, I asked Cassandra Jean to draw the four seasons as the four Shadowhunter series I have either written or planned right now — The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, the Dark Artifices, and The Mysterious TLH.

In a exclusive interview Cassandra Jean revealed that a lot of her artwork has some major hiden meanings. Now I wonder why Maia is so far from Jordan. And also, Magnus looks like he’s having a great day with Alec! MALEC feels all the way shadowhunters!
